| The 2nd Annual Diabetic Life Celebrity Pro-Am Vegas Hockey Weekend (March 30 to April 1, 2007) was a 3-day event to help benefit the programs of Diabetic Life. The event consisted of a Friday Night VIP Dinner, Saturday Hockey Game and Sunday Golf Outing. |
VIP Dinner This VIP Event was held in the Ballroom of the Orleans Hotel & Casino, which included an excellent dinner, open bar for the players, Silent Auction, and a Live Auction which was conducted by Clint Malarchuk with some "Tape & Foil" help from the Hanson Brothers as they auctioned off a "Chiefs" jersey signed by the Hanson's. We also got Jay White (Las Vegas Entertainment Headliner) up on stage to assist Clint. Anytime you get Clint up on stage, you better be ready for some fun and unexpected twists. One of the highlight items on the auction block was a 1980 USA Olympic Gold Medal Hockey Team picture autographed by all of the players. This picture was courtesy of Randy Morton, President of the Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino. To see pictures of the VIP Dinner, CLICK HERE |
Hockey Game The game was filled with great passes, shot, goals and saves. The Hanson Brothers were accused by the ref's for making a goalie or two fall down just before they scored. Amazingly a ref got in the way and was knocked down by all 3 Hansons and they also stopped by the opposing bench and greeted the players as their gloves fell off... imagine that. They were even chased to the penalty box by 9 year old Lance Maxwell, who later teamed up with the Hanson's to score a goal. Lance was later encouraged by an unknown group of 3 players (known to be brothers...hmmm) to pick a fight with former NHL Tough Guy Bryan Maxwell. It was a Maxwell vs. Maxwell brawl, but for some reason, Bryan had a huge smile on his face. Don't you just love "Old Time Hockey". For pictures of the game and a Team Roster, CLICK HERE |
Golf Outing The 2007 Golf Outing was held at the Stallion Mountain Country Club. The outing was set up by Walters Golf representative, Brian Dyke who did an outstanding job. Everything was in place and the course was ready to be invaded by hockey players, celebrities and VIP guests. Everyone had a great time especially when the Hanson Brothers took the course... enough said. The stories that came from those who played riveled those fishing stories where you forgot your camera. Thanks Walters Golf for a great time and for your support. For pictures of the Golf Outing, CLICK HERE. |
